Another Fallen Eagle Sherman "Woody" Tyree Died April 17, 2008
getting rejections from Woody's email, I reached out Tom Spears tried to help from the Philippines and Mike Parker eventually made contact with Woody's wife. She told him that Woody had died of complications from pneumonia (Mike gave the year as 2007 but It must have been last year 2008).

From an IAS perspective Woody is easy to eulogize. I am not sure when he first arrived there, probably 1962. He touched and made friends with most of 203's who passed through IAS. He became the stations chief/linguist analyst before he left. We both got discharged at IAS and I spent some wonderful times with him in Saint Nicholas. No so long ago he went to a reunion in Nashville with a group of 203's that were not even his class (they adopted him as we did). He was always a true gentleman and always willing to help.

It would be nice if you could add your good thoughts and experiences with him to this message to honor him. He may have been the most significant individual to serve at IAS. He certainly was in my era.

Thanks Paul for the news about Woody. I arraived at the 3961st before you and Woody left. Woody was a class act. Where did he go after Iraklion? Also, did you stay in touch with Foye Yoakum? Where are you living these days? I'm near indianapolis. Lou Hansen
